Week 8: Materials + Model Update

Design 1: I went with a a very regular wood styled home placed in a field to simulate a home that would almost my envisioned perfect getaway from the rest of society. The emphasis on quiet, non assuming materials with only one  notable employment of contrast ensures one is not totally overwhelmed when looking at the design.

Design 2: I employed a more historic and desert-like appearance with the utilisation of old, weather stone blocks against a sandy environment. The blinds are actually unchanged, as with the lighting i took with the picture i found it fit in with the plain colour scheme of the bricks. Just for fun, I made the door a glass material, juxtaposing the rugged bricks and harsh environment.

Design 3: A construction site themed use of materials, I noted while making the other two designs that the materials I used while plain, were extremely bright in colour and often were complimented by the bright sky that I used for the background. Therefore, I used a very dark colour scheme using shades of grey and black with the cement textured floor and dark, dusty interior cement walls complimented by the dark wood. Nearing the end, i noted how it looked like a darkened version of the inside of a construction site, so I added the brown wood to act as a sort of tool/material closet for the space.

Part 2: Materials in Fusion 360

New Model

Decided to Redo the Week 7 Model, but use a technique known as scoring (lightly pushing a sharp edge into the fold) to make the corners crisper and easier to fold.

Week 7 3D Model

Week 7 Fusion 360 Model:
My Initials are EGC, and I placed them 35mm away from each other. I shelled my intials by 6mm.

The most notable problem of this design was attempting to use a G shape, as Fusion would refuse to shell anything with that kind of shape.
Thus, the G looks more like a C just with a little extra strand like this:
